SCOTTISH EDUCATION AWARDS 2008 Scottish Education Awards

The winner of the Cambridge Education Learning Unlimited International Schools Award is St Ninian’s High School, Bishopbriggs in East Dunbartonshire.

Representatives from the school were presented with a trophy by Adam Ingram, Scottish Government Minister for Children and Early Years and also received a certificate together with a cheque for £1000 at the Awards ceremony in Glasgow on Friday 13 June 2008.

The award acknowledges schools that have fostered good links with partnership schools across the globe and encouraged their pupils to develop an understanding of the world and Scotland’s place in it.

Later this year pupils from St Ninian’s High School will visit Madagascar through the World Challenge Project.

Michael Burke, Divisional Director of Learning Unlimited said “We are delighted to sponsor this Award.  International Education is a rich context for schools to encourage responsible citizens and effective contributors and it is right that we celebrate their achievements in doing that.”
